Roddy Hart - Road of Bones
Taking inspiration from the classic records of Neil Young and Bob Dylan, Road Of Bones is unashamedly old school in its approach, presenting ten beautifully crafted songs sparse in instrumentation and arrangement, but rich in character and storytelling.
Though shot through with moments of optimism and hope, there is undoubtedly a dark fragile heart that beats beneath its surface. Now gaining a full digital and physical release, Road Of Bones began life as a limited edition vinyl release in September 2010, and quickly found a champion in Radio 2 s legendary broadcaster Whispering Bob Harris.
It also came to the attention of the Scottish Herald's Arts Editor Alan Morrison, who described it as beautifully melodic [and] very close to being that rare thing: a 10-track album with 10 standout tracks . Unassuming yet timeless in its approach, Road Of Bones marks Hart as an artist who is here to stay.
